You can remove a single page from a PDF document, but if you want to delete several pages, you’ll need to use the Organize Pages tool. For example, let’s say you don’t want to keep the title page of a book in your document. You could simply delete that page from the PDF using your operating system (or an app like Preview on macOS), but then all other pages would also be removed—and you might want to keep some of those! Instead, you can use this method to PDF delete pages.
Choose the Organize Pages tool from the right pane
To remove pages from a PDF document, choose the Organize Pages tool from the right pane of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you are using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, you can also find it by clicking on the Organize Pages icon in your toolbar.
Choose pages to delete by clicking on their thumbnails in the sidebar
To delete a page from your PDF, simply:
- Click on the thumbnail of any page that you want to remove.
- Click on the Delete icon at the top of your page list in the sidebar. If you don’t see this button, make sure you’re using Classic mode and not Modern mode by clicking View and then choosing Classic.
- If necessary, adjust how your pages appear by changing their view options under Tools > Options > Document Views (PDF) or Tools > Options > Document Views (OCR).
Click the Delete icon to delete the page
To delete a page from a PDF document, follow the steps below:
- Click the Delete icon to delete the page.
- The page will be removed from your PDF document, and it will no longer be available in any of its components (for example, in the sidebar).

Use the View menu to adjust how your pages appear on the screen
To view your pages, use the View menu at the top of your screen. You can change what each page looks like in one of two ways: by viewing thumbnails or by viewing a list of all pages.
To View thumbnail images of your pages, select Thumbnail View from the View menu. According to Adobe Acrobat’s professionals, “This will display each page as an individual icon that represents its contents.” Selecting a thumbnail will open it in Acrobat Reader for editing purposes; you can also copy and paste text from these thumbnails into other programs, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs, for further editing.
As you can see, it’s easy to remove specific pages from a PDF document. Once you’ve chosen your page(s), click the Delete icon and then click OK to finish the process. You’ll be left with an empty space where the page used to be – just as if it was never there in the first place!
